I love Presence of the Lord as Idid all of the Blind Faith Album but not the squeaky Winwood rendition which I have never warmed to over the years. 75 minutes of music, with notes and rare pix! As for this album all are so very different to what we get now and remind me of those day when the refinements were not there and music was less clinical live. In fact, it's more than fine. One tends to always compare this track to the Live at the Filmore version off of Wheels of Fire which has to be one of the very best but this version is really good and perhaps comes second in my view in comparison. I have to admit to not being a fan of Townsend or Winwood. Joining Eric on stage on January 13, 1973 were Pete Townshend, Ron Wood, Steve Winwood, Rick Grech and Jim Capaldi-surely one of the most glittering ensembles in rock history! Certainly the general consensus seemed to be "It's not an essential Clapton purchase." This is an historic document of an early 70's live recording at one of the great 70's rock venues, the Rainbow, blazing through a great selection of blues-rock. I saw Eric perform live in 2011 at the Royal Albert Hall and it was a great performance but this at the Rainbow must have been a really great concert. While guitar wise its an ensemble effort, outside of Clapton I must single out Ronnie Wood...some great licks from him!
